Driving Lessons and More

Daddy took Sterling for his first driving lesson last week.  With the wonderful weather we were having we tried to spend some quality time outdoors.  I am not a really "outdoorsy" kind of a girl so you know when I am itching to get some fresh air we have really been feeling cooped up.  With the perfect weather we were experiencing I couldn't wait to get Sterling up from his nap each morning to go enjoy a walk or play outside.

Alex's work schedule has changed a little bit so that he can spend more time with students after school.  Therefore, we have been seeing much more of him most mornings.  One morning, as I said before, we decided to take Sterling out and let him ride in the Little Tikes he got for Christmas.  Alex pushed and I took pictures and videoed some too.  (I still can't get video to upload but if I can ever get it to work this is a must see video.)  Sterling LOVED riding around.  I was kind of wishing the car had a seat belt though, because Sterling is a bit of a speed demon.  Of course Alex was being very careful as he raced around the driveway.

I think he looks a little nervous here like he just got his permit

Now he has his arm propped up and waiting in traffic.

The fun begins

We decided to try out a fork this week!  Honestly I was a little skeptical, I really thought I would have to mop up after him.  But to my surprise he did really well.  Of course he still hasn't mastered getting the food on the fork, but with a little help he is pretty successful.
Sterling got into Daddy's desk and found this highlighter the other day.  He had already found a calculator somewhere, and for the rest of the day these were his toys of choice.  He didn't figure out that he could open the highlighter (believe me he wouldn't be playing with it if he had) so it became a colorful drum stick, and I think he thought the calculator was his own mini computer.  Who would have thought that such things could hold the attention of a 12 month old for so long.

Going for a walk

For some reason Sterling rode the whole way laying his head on the wagon.
 Helping Daddy start a fire.
Pyro in the making!
