Ethiopia It Is

I got a facelift!  Well, the blog did.  I never really liked the last look, we'll see how long this new one lasts.

As of now we have chosen Ethiopia!  Or rather Ethiopia has chosen us!  The program in Congo is currently closed, so our choice was made for us.  Again.  It has been amazing to see how God has narrowed down the country for us!  I will be honest, I don't think I would have ever even considered Ethiopia given other choices; however, thankfully we serve an all-knowing God.  He knows where and who our child is, and thus far, He has been very gracious to make the choice easy for us.

I ran into this video just a while ago and though I would share.  I thought it was very moving from another family adopting from Ethiopia.

We have our orientation phone interview tomorrow afternoon.  I am a bit nervous.  I hate getting asked things I am not prepared to answer.  I am praying that the children go down for their nap tomorrow quickly and easily so that is not a distraction.

I also am reading Bloodlines by John Piper.  When we were praying about our decision to go with Africa, I felt bombarded by his tweets about the book as well as racial issues in America.  I don't even get on twitter that often, but for some reason I was doing so at that point and decided to purchase his book.  You can now get the ebook for free at desiringgod.org if you are interested.  However I was intrigued and wanted to hear what he had to say on the subject, given his age, having gone through the civil rights era; southern heritage; my respect for anything he has to say - whether you agree with him or not you have to admit that he is one of the most influential pastor/theologians for our generation; and his daughter Talitha.

My cousin actually informed me as I was reading (well I still am) that he had a mini documentary entitled Bloodlines. (about 15min) It is actually a great summary of the personal parts of the book.  Very moving and very true!
