O Come, O Come Emmanuel

This is one of my very favorite Christmas Carols. Read it closely and ponder all of the names and roles of Christ it describes. What deep text taken from scripture! And my personal favorite is the second verse which I had not heard until I looked up the song to copy and paste it here. Why is it that we always skip the best verses?

Christ has freed us from, His own, from the tyranny of Satan and the depths of Hell. REJOICE!! It is Christmas!
