Catch Up!

We have been pretty busy the last week or so and I am just getting a chance to catch you all up.  Just a warning this is a very long post, but it is mostly pictures so don't get weary and just keep scrolling.

We traveled to Sylacauga last week for Thanksgiving.  We had Thanksgiving dinner with my family Thursday and due to illnesses were not able to get together with Alex's family until Saturday.

Somehow Sterling became very frightened of this book.  But after some intense therapy he now loves it again.

Sterling's First Thanksgiving.  He loved it!

Tripp and Sterling playing together.  It's so fun for him now that he can get in the middle of the action!

Watching a Mickey Christmas movie.  Georgia and Sterling look a little frightened.

Sunday Jane (Alex's mom) took all of the wives and the two oldest grandkids to Nashville to stay at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel.  While we were there we saw the Rockettes and amazing ice sculptures shaped like Charlie Brown characters.

Alex planned to stay home with Sterling while we were out of town.  He was so excited about spending some qualitiy male bonding time.  But as it turned out he had a little more school work to finish up at the end of the semster than he had thought.  So, Sterling stayed with my mom and siblings.

Thankfully, the time alone allowed Alex get what he needed to get done and we will be heading to Tuscaloosa Friday for him to graduate from graduate school.  He is so ready to be done!  He can't wait for the welcome break next spring and summer before he plans to start seminary (if all goes according to plan) next fall.

Eating breakfast at the hotel.  It was beautiful, and in case you have never been to the Gaylord Opryland Hotel it is huge!!  We didn't discover some parts of it until the last day.

Before we went through ICE.  It was several rooms of ice sculptures and it was absolutely FREEZING!  We were wearing these nice blue coats on top of our own coats and we were still so cold.

Everything you see is ice!

While we were gone Sterling got a case of bronchiolitis.  He had to use a nebulizer which looked like a penguin.  I called it his "breathing buddy."  Here is a picture of him doing his treatment.

On Friday we went to Birmingham to hear Chris Tomlin and Louie Giglio.  Alex took some students and some couples from our small group went as well.  It is a Christmas Tour and it was such a blessing.  It was amazing to worship the Lord with a sold out crowd to Christmas Carols and songs.  Thank you Nanie for keeping our boy so I could go!

Of course we watched the Tide Roll all over the Gators on Saturday.  It was a fun game to watch.  I was truly surprised.  I was anticipating a game more like the one against Auburn, with the score going back and forth.  But my nerves and stomach appreciated the solid performance by the Tide.  Since I have many Gator fans in my family it made the win all the more satisfying!!  Roll Tide guys!

Sunday, Sterling turned 11 months.  I can't believe we only have one more month of babyhood!  Here are some more cute pictures of him recently.

Sterling loves to read now and especially turn pages, so we catch him "reading" all the time now.  It makes a teacher's heart proud.

Here is a picture of Sterling watching a video of himself talking.  He loves looking at himself in the mirror.  He is his own little playmate.  It makes me think of Winnie the Pooh and how he always talks to himself in the mirror.
