Anyway . . .
I am so glad it finally feels like fall!! I love summer, but it gets really old to me really fast. I am not one to enjoy baking in the sun for no good reason other than "enjoying the outdoors." It's sad to admit but I much prefer the comforts of 70 degree A/C. (That is so spoiled I know, but just being honest.)
I am also a magnet for mosquitos and with all the rain we have had this year I think those irritating little blood suckers have been producing ten fold. If I remain outside for longer than several minutes I have been prone to frantic swatting and scratching fits (it just isn't worth it). Now, with the cooler weather I am finally relived of the former misery and hopefully soon will find relief from the latter. I have made a pact with myself to take my son beyond the threshold of our home during the day and let him play outside more than just every now and then. I know that in a few months when he is walking everywhere that it will be a welcome diversion.
The outside of our house looks pretty sad right now. Besides my husband's faithfulness to mow the lawn not much has been done to the exterior of our home. Since we moved in during the late spring we decided, or were advised is more appropriate (I think I have a red that's the total opposite of green) to wait until cooler weather to plant anything. The previous owners apparently knew about as much as I do about this kind of thing, because the flower beds are pretty sad looking! So, to add some color and in celebration of fall I have made a wreath for our door. I was so proud of myself. I spent $20 on the materials, and I must say, I like it better than any of those $50+ wreaths that I saw in the store.

And here is a picture of Sterling in a cute little fall outfit!
