Ever Thankful

School is starting back all over our state this week and it reminds me to be thankful. I am so thankful to my husband for allowing me to stay at home and raise our family. I can't imagine having to take Sterling to day-care and leave him there for eight hours while I am at school working. As much as I loved working and as sad as I was to not be teaching anymore, I would not trade any of it for the honor of being a full-time stay at home mom!

The job of a full-time mother has been belittled in our society. We are told that we are not complete or fulfilled with out a career. A look into scriptures refutes this idea. I have never been more fulfilled than in doing what God created me to do. Be a mommy!

Thank you Alex for your commitment to allowing us both to fulfill our roles in the family. He works so hard with not only a full time job but being a full-time student as well. He will have his Masters in Marketing in December and plans to begin part-time seminary so being done with school is still a long way off.

I have had so many people say to me, since I've been pregnant, things like, "It's so good that you can do that." Saying that it would be impossible for them financially to do so. We are not financially "able" to let me stay home, we just don't spend more than we bring in. (A unheard of idea in our society I now.) I am thankful that my husband trusts the Lord to provide for our family. And is obedient in letting me stay home with my baby.

Speaking of "Daddy," Sterling is in LOVE with his Daddy. It is so cute to watch them together. Sterling will do something so cute that makes me laugh and will cut his eyes over to see if Alex is watching. How presh!! He already seeks his approval, and Daddy lavishes it on him. He lights up each afternoon when he comes home. And his face was priceless when he saw him after being in Florida for four days! I wish we had had it on camera. His eyes got so wide and his smile was bigger than I had ever seen it!! (It was the middle of the night too)

Here are a few priceless Daddy/son moments over the past few weeks.
