What Little Girls Are Thankful For

When Sterling was this age I remember him having some interesting prayers.  I know I recorded one, I wanted to make sure I remembered this from Ann Elizabeth as well.

Remember that Ann Elizabeth is still in that needing a translator stage, so what I record here is actually so much funnier in person.  Ann Elizabeth has been asking to pray at night when Sterling does during our Bible times, so we have been trying to teach her simply to thank God for a few things she is thankful for.  We started out having her repeat some of the only words she could really say, the names of her family.  Since then she has begun to do this on her own with out prompting.  We all smile at the cuteness and sweetness of her attempts to thank Jesus.  This is how it normally goes:

AE: "I pray"
Alex or I: "Ok go ahead."
AE: "Jesus, thank you for Mommy, Daddy, Sterning. Amen."  or sometimes it is more like this, "Jesus, thank you for Mommy, Mommy, Daddy, Mommy, Daddy, and Sterning, and Daddy, Amen."

However, as I have said, she has been talking a good deal more lately, and is quite obsessed with Disney movies like Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast, Tangled, etc.  This is more how her prayer has gone this week.

AE: "Jesus, thank you for Daddy, Mommy, Sterning, Bewe (Belle), Rewa (Cinderella), Bewe, Rewa, White, Punzel, Bewe, Rora, Rewa, Bewe, de Bees (the Beast)."  We finally have to cut her off, I think she would go on all night.

Believe me Ann Elizabeth, I thank Jesus for Bewe and Rewa often too.  They certainly allow me to get things done around here.  Especially this week, as I have tackled staining kitchen cabinets and trying to clean out some closets.  My poor family has kind of had to fend for themselves.  Suppers have been simple, the house is a mess.  However, part of that is what I have pulled out of a closet that will no longer fit in it in an organized fashion, time to get packed up, or donated!  Oh, and my laundry is LITERALLY three quarters of the way up to the ceiling, no joking!  It's gotten bad, but never this bad!  I think I need to do less staining and more cleaning tomorrow, or I'll never catch up.
